Invitational Letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau
Of all of our Prime Ministers I feel it may only be Justin Trudeau who best understands the value of literary culture.
Having adorned the covers of TWO modern and current comic books (Canadian Chapter House's "Captain Canuck - Summer Special" as well as Marvel's "Civil War II: Choosing Sides" - how cool is THAT!!), we as Canadian authors - both local and abroad, need support and encouragement.
The ByWard Market and its Author’s Market regularly welcome regional authors from all horizons and different languages in order to promote their books. This initiative offers local residents and visitors a unique opportunity to meet local authors, discuss their work, receive an autograph or obtain a copy of their book.
Located in the heart of the ByWard Market, just around the corner of Parliment, the Authors’ Market is a covered outdoor space where authors can promote and sell their work, organize signing sessions, or even launch a new book. Books promoted at the Author’s Market can be written in French, English, Spanish or any other language!
This initiative was launched by the City of Ottawa’s Markets Management in order to encourage visitors to discover our region’s cultural scene and to support local authors!
I myself am a local author, born and raised in the Nation's Capital! I extend an invitation to our beloved PM, Justin Trudeau, to drop by and show his support of our local and rich literary talents!
